Looking to buy a new bow
Hello, I'm new to the forum. I have hunted but only with a rifle or muzzleloader. My husband hunts with a bow and I want to try the same. The question of course is where to start. I'm a small woman, draw length is 25.6, currently my draw weight is only 34#!
I've heard again and again that buying a youth bow will leave me trying to sell and upgrade after a season. I worry that walking into a shop I will end up with a bow that they are trying to unload because it didn't sell or they got alot of at a good price. Any suggestions? |

Hoyt Selina
Browning Rage There are quite a few others that would suit you well, but these are 2 I am familiar with. The best advice is to head to a reputable pro shop and shoot as many that fit you as you can. The one you want will jump out at you. Welcome to the forums, don't be a stranger. We look forward to hearing more from you. |

The Diamond Edge is another great option.

Depends on how much you want to spend. I would recommend the Bowtech Equalizer. You can get the draw weight 30-40 and 40-50. It also has a short drawlength 24"-27 1/2". Good Luck and welcome to the forums.

I also agree to shoot a few and see which feels the best.
I would also start out with the Equalizer....its made for short draw. If you look at the stats....inch for inch and pound for pound, it is one of the fastest bows on the market today. |
RE: Looking to buy a new bow
Don't know what state you plan on hunting so make sure the bow you choose will meet the minimum draw weight requirement. Example: NY is 36lb., Nebraska is 40, Maryland is 30 and some have no minimum specified. Just something to think about.
