DISH Network Dropping MOR Ch.

Today I noticed that DISH Network has dropped the Men's Outdoor and Recreation (MOR) channel from their programming. That is very disappointing as most of my evening/night watching was The Outdoor Channel or MOR. I sent an email through DISH Network website expressing my disappointment after calling their offices and not getting any explanation as to why they were discontinuing the channel...."more information would be forthcoming" was their basic response. I guess paying them over $100/mo for my program package was still not enough.

Dang... $100 a month for DISH???? I'm glad I have cable and I still get MOR and the Outdoor channel. MOR does have a lot of paid programming. I hope those informercials don't move to the Outdoor channel.[&:]

Once I read this I had to check. Yep no longer available. That really bites. I watched that channel quite a bit. Yeah and I pay 110 dollars a month for DISH. I will send an email out as well to DISH. Not that it will help but Im gonna express my concerns. I bet we wont get credit to our bills for this.

I told them I will be looking for a new provider.

I hope not! I just got the dish network yesterday. I dropped my comcast, and they even charged me another 2 dollars for the mens outdoor channel. They will really get an earful from me if they take it away. Right now I still have it.

Ahhhh I love my Direct Tv... MOR channel, Outdoor Channel and NFL Sunday Ticket. Life is good!!!:D

Seriously, that stinks that Dish dropped it. A guy I work with just got Dish last weekend and has been talking about the shows he has been watching on MOR.
Direct Tv just picked it up a few months ago so I doubt they will drop it in the near future.

I called and the tech LIED to me and told me the mens channel was no longer viewable on dish OR direct TV. He said the parent group- "media Group" dropped the programming but to a few cable providers (lie).

I also e-mailed dishnetwork and expressed my concern.
This stinks......

HuntingnetMembers,
If you have time today please go to www.dishnetwork.com and send an email asking that Mens Outdoors and Recreation be returned to the network.

Even if you don't use DISH as your carrier it will help us continue to spread the word about QDMA and the great things that this organization is doing.

Thanking you in advance,
John Brown Jr.
Senior Producer, QWTV[/align]

Some of the shows on MOR were ok, but the volume was always so horrbile in the middle of the show and the commercials would be blasting. I called and complained and got 3 months free HBO

I called Dish first thing this morning, and too, was told that only cable providers had the channel. I called a friend of mine with Direct and he verified that he was still watching it when I called. I called Direct and was told that they offer MOR with all of their packages. Still steaming, I called Dish back and was told this time that they were "still in negotiations with the media group". There was a total of 5 channels that were lost. I did ask about a refund and was told that I didn't pay for the channel I paid for the complete package. I told them that my package wasn't very complete now and wanted to know what it would cost to cancel Dish for good. I'll give them a week, then it's off to Direct.[:@]

I e-mailed them yesterday, got a reply today, "WE are sorry for the inconvenience but will be no longer have MOR and a few other channels, they also went on to say that Direct no longer is airring it either", thats funny, a freind of mine who has Direct still has MOR. Im not for sure at this point, but I think I might be looking for another provider.

I just got a reply from Dish Net. They said MOR has been dropped from their programming and Direct TV does not offer it either. They said it is only available from select Cable providers. So I told them a lot of my friends have said that Direct Tv recently added it and I was going to check it out. If Direct TV does carry it I will be switching. See what they say to that.

I called and wrote to all parties involved in the fiasco. This is the canned response I got from MOR.

Dear Viewer,
Thank you for writing. We understand your frustration at this moment.
The MOR Network is in the middle of negotiations with DISH Networks and
unfortunately, DISH has temporarily taken our network off the air. We
hope to be back up very soon. You can help us in this regard by telling
DISH that you want MOR back on by calling DISH and voicing your demand.
Please stay tuned, and please call DISH and tell them You Want MOR!
Call Now 1-303-723-1000.
Thank you,
MOR

I just sent them an email complaining. I told them I was disappointed that MOR was removed and other channels had been removed and that they were in breech of contract with me.

You all talk about Dish breaking thier contract with you by removing channels. Hsve you read the fine print in that contract?

RE: DISH Network Dropping MOR Ch.

Do like I did.......I called and complained, then threatened to go to DirectTV and asked what their going to do about it. At first they told me they would give me 1/2a month free (1/2 the bill I would normally get). I told them that wasn't enough. I told them I could handle the Outdoor Channel, so they gave that to me if I didn't switch to DirectTV. It is worth a shot.

Rickmur 07-19-2007 01:14 PM

RE: DISH Network Dropping MOR Ch.

Zubba, I would suspect that would only work if your contract is up. They will off that to keep you

Right on, my contract is up and I'm on month to month. I can't be the only person here whose contract is up. You might-as-well use what little pull we got. ;)
