Yup, you get the right place and you can learn a lot. The shops are starting a really busy time of year right now. Len recently hired a guy that used to work at Bass Pro. He says he's working out great and wants to learn. No better teacher for techie stuff.

I noticed on your list of things to buy, you had a morrells bh target. I just purchased the morrells six shooter, its a great target. I recommend it.

This should be your chance to learn a bit about bows and archery so pay close attention. It certainly isn't going to be a money maker for ya though, I'm sure he offered you (a kid) the job because he knew he wouldn't have to pay ya much, so I wouldn't hold you're breath on making that much better money that you were/are.

I did the same thing when I was in college. Lots of fun.

My boss gave me the cost discount, which meant in effect, that I could buy whatever I wanted there at his price, wholesale. So I rarely took money away. Two year later, I have 18 long guns, plenty of cammo, I took up reloading, tried every broadhead, duck call and type of decoy you can imagine, I STILL have enough hevi-shot to last me until I'm 30... and Lord knows what else.

I really didn't dive into the archery side of things there. We sold Bow Tech, and the only regret I have is not going to the dealer school when my boss offered to pay half.

You'll learn a lot. The guy who I semi-worked under in archery was a jerk though, so I just learned most of the stuff on my own. Make sure that you don't jump in too fast. Good way to mess stuff up. Don't think you know everything.... stop and ask questions. That will keep you from spending your paycheck on buying someone a new bow.... like I had to do.

Well I went today and turned in my resume and everything. He said he'd get me in on the next schedules here in the next few weeks.


I also played around with some right handed bows and shot a few lower poundage ones. I can do about 55lbs right handed and I am seriously thinking about teaching myself to shoot right handed again. I figured that way I will be able to shoot and tune either one. I'll just have to rebuild my right arm muscles back up.
