Anyone know where to find quality crotch stand? Do you all make them yourselfs?

Ummm........there are simply TOO many twists one could put on this one....I'll just say that I don't even think I've heard of them.....

Not sure who makes them anymore but once in a while you can catch them on Ebay. Only thing that bothered me about the commercial crotch type stands is the small platforms. Geesh they seem small.

havent seen those in awhile!! but im remember them. they would serve good purpose in a (pinch!![8D])

Here is one version that recently was on Ebay made by Barrie Archery. Note the wood platform. Another popular version was by Bear River or Rivers Edge(can't remember) and its platform was steel or aluminum.

Coug, is there another name for them other than crotch stands? I looked that up with no success on eBay...

Rivers Edge used to make a good one. But...many land owners wouldn't allow them to be used. The stand anchored into the tree by 4 solid metal bars with points.

If you tried it on the younger trees, you could do some serious damage.

I thought you were maybe talking about the strap-on seats. But coug's picture set me straight. I used to have a strap-on seat but it got swiped from the back of the truck. It was cool. Could strap onvarious sizes of trees at any angle and was comfortable. It was shaped like an old steel tractor seat. Think I got it from like Cabela's or Sportsman's Guide.
