You guys are always talking about wearing your body harnesses while climbing in and out of your tree's. I can't figure out how to do it? I have tree steps with straps holding them to the tree, that are always in the way. Please explain to me how you get it done. Thanks Bub

I use an ascender. It is a safety tool used by people like window washers. It hooks to your harness and then to a rope attached to the tree. That way ladders, limbs, steps, etc. won't get in the way. Many guys use a prussic knot tied to a safety line.

Once your steps are in you can use the prussic system or you can use the ascender system. While getting your steps in you can use the center buckles of your harness with a strap that runs around the tree.
