I have 6 pins, but the bottom pins are there for 3d. For hunting only the top 3 will be needed.

I also like to practice at longer ranges so having a pin for it makes it easier.

1 slider pin is good enough for me. I set it at 25 and have an additional mark at 35.

Out ofthree pins on my bow, I use one for hunting and the other two for 3D.

My top pin is good zero to thirty yards.

I get a little crazy with my bottom two pins on the 3D target lanes and use them to shootanywhere from 50 to 70 yards. Sometimes I even come close to the bulls-eye!

I have used 5 and 6 pin sights, and currently have them on a Bow. I did rig my Allegiance with a Quick Click Ranger that I like to use out west in conjunction with a range finder. It eliminates splitting pins on those 33, 46, etc. yard shots. They all will work it just depends on what you like and what you become familar with. That's the Key shoot enough with your hunting setup that everything about it becomes second nature

One. Pin gap is just too close together anymore. Multiple pins just confuse me, and for hunting I set my pin for 25 yards......1" high at 20, 1" low at 30. Doesn't get much better than that.
Yeah, I am looking into 1 pin sights for just that reason. Which sight do you use?

I use three pins, pin #1 is zero to thirty, #2 is 40 and #3 is 50 yards. I have a six pin sight I use for 3-d and I have it dialed in out to 70yards, but really dont plan on flinging one at a deer that far away.

Like Rick James, I mix it up. I have shot one pin all season. I have shot three. I have shot five for the last two years. This year, I'll shoot seven, because I am practicing out so much farther than I ever have (95 yards). My pins are set at 25,35,45,55,65,75,and 85. Will I take a shot at a deer over 40 in a hunting situation. NO. I might not even take one at 30 if I don't feel good about it. The longest shot I have taken on a deer was at 38 yards. I drilled her and she went down inside 35 yards. I don't want to shoot outside that range on a hunt, but I like knowing and practing through the season. I often shoot on my way out of the woods and take a practice shot from the treeat long distances before I get down, just topractice.

I have never made the mistake of using the wrong pin.( Not that I am arrogant enough to say that it won't happen) I use a laser range finder and know my yardage for the most part.

We'll see how 7 pins works this year.
