Best scent is none at all. Like Cornfed said if you use any maybe use it in a mock scrape

none of yours and hopefully the real deal... other deer or in my case elk alsousing the area to keep all the critters off of red alert.

I have luck with Beaver Castor. It is an old trapper's scent. Deer really seem to like it out of curiosiy, I guess. I use it with discretion, though. Early season interference can make the older bucks go elsewhere.

I also would say none,if you are looking to kill a mature deer.I wouldn't want any thing to be at all unnatural about their area,nothing to raise suspicion.Young deer are more apt to come in to a food lure or a curiosity lure.
If I was going to use a lure it would either be a James Valley product,a Kishels product or the tarsal glands off a buck or doe I had killed.
