Default Tonight is the Night!

I have a Bitz, a bottle of goat tuff, 2-36pk of blazer vanes, acetone, rubbing alcohol, 150gritsand paper,GT arrows and a 12pk of Leinenkugels beer.

This is my first time fletching and I can't wait.

I have a crappy practice fletching arrow (has a gash on the side rendering it useless) that I am using to practice. Tomorrow I am heading down to Bass Pro to grab some wraps and a zip stripand will then finish off the rest of my arrows.

Ah to be dependent no more on my local archery shop. (unless I need warranty work!)

Wow this Bitz can be cranky! It doesn't help that I am using right helical on a short, stiff vane.

Tally so far:

One vane on with normal right helical

One vane torn off by me to see how the glue holds

One vane drying with a severe right helical.

Where ya live Red Boar?

I wonder how much of a difference the spacing between the nock and the vane makes?

Also, I have been told that you don't need a whole lot of helical on blazers to get them to spin adequately.

your right, infact since they are so short you get just a slight twist. Thats why I put a strong offset on them to ensure a good twist.

I try to fletch as close to the nock as possible, in order to get the best stabilization.
