4 vanes or 3??
#1
Well I'm getting ready to refletch all my arrows. Why? because I bought some cheap wraps and they arnt holding my fletching very well, and I'm borderline obsessive-compulsive so I need all my arrows to look the same.
Anyway, I shoot a drop away, and have always used 3 flecthings, but I was thinking about going w/ 4. Mostly for increased stablization. but im not sure if its worth it. What to do?
Looking for good technical advice from all of ya so please help!
thanks,
ed.
BTW - they are blazer vanes

Arthur, The extra vane puts me at an FOC of 11.21% otherwise its 11.7% It shouldnt matter that much should it?
Also whats a better FOC? closer to 8 or 12? Im thinking 12 cause you want the arrow a bit front heavy for stabilization right?

Well, if your FOC is still over 11%, I've got nothing to nay say. Do what wrinkles your prune.
I will say though that as long as you fletch those Blazers with about a 5 degree offset or helical, then you shouldn't need to go 4 fletch. According to my testing, they'll shoot fine in a 3-fletch arrangement with both the Snypers and Stingers.

Yea I decided to flecth up 3 arrows w/ 4 just for kicks tonight. we'll see how different they fly tomorrow...
I'll probably just stick to the standard 3x120 fletch unless i see a huge difference.
