That is one state that has been flying under the radar there is some very good opertunities there for hunting. I can't help you but they do get some very nice animals from that part of the country.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I will seriously start looking after the season this year. I plan on going alone so if anyone is interested - but no spooning allowed

They have some bad problems there with disease, especially in the western part of the state and it wipes out a good % of the whitetail bucks every couple of years "mainly after hot summers". Then it's back to square one, but it does have a bunch of cold windy days! The state is also about 98% private property, not much public land to hunt except for the badlads in the western part.

I have never heard of such a thing in that area and being close and have hunted in that state and live next to it. If anything they have some of the healthest deer population. It's news to me being involved in hunting all my life and know many hunters there.

It's called EHD and wipes out a bunch of them mostly in the western part of the state every couple years. Heck they gave out refunds just a couple years ago because of it.

The western badlands is where you want to hunt, but you have to get your tag early, first come first served.
