Looking at buying my first climber
I am looking at buying my first climber this summer for about $200 or less. Has anyone had any experience with the Summit Openshot or the Loggy Bayou Mega Transformer?
Also, how long does it take to set up the stand? |
RE: Looking at buying my first climber
No experience with either one of those. I have an API Bowhunter Extreme, and really like ita lot. No bars in front to get in the way very lite and I have made all day sits in it before. It is quite comfortable. It is also simple to set up and you get the hang of how much lean to start out with pretty quick. The rubber coated bike chain is in my opinion a very good idea for the attatchment to the tree. Stacks together for packing well too. Once locked to the tree it is silent. Have never had a noise problem with it, even in cold weather when creaks can show up.

RE: Looking at buying my first climber
I've had a ton of stands... probably more stands than I have bows. Hands down the one that's left me feeling the safest due to it being absolutely rock-solid has been my Summit climber. It's the most comfortable I've ever sat in as well, and -- yes, I have fallen asleep in it.

I like the gorilla greyback personally but i got the walmart wolverene (same dagon thing to the T except the greyback is a lb lighter) they are comfy with the net on them but i will probably put a board across it and then put a cushion on it.

i bought a climber from hunters view, will never buy another one from them. stand got here with no instructions on assembly or use, and in a month and a half i have not been able to get ahold of them by phone or email to get some sent. my money's going somewhere else next time. wish i would have gotten one of the stands mentioned above.

Summit.......they're awesome, well worth the money! I bought the summit goliath before last season and could NOT be any happier. Quiet, light, super comfy and feels really secure to the tree. I don't like heights too much......My old one was held to the tree by a metal blade/triangle type bracket and sometimes I wondered if it was just going to let go and free fall, but the rubber coated cables on the summits grip the tree great.
