I work about 10 miles from Bloody Point. Its in the Chesapeake Bay here in Md, great chumming location for stripers and blues. The Bay is over 4 miles wide there. There are deer always found swimming out there. Labhunter, who frequents this site has pics of a deerhis buddies found swimming around out therein a 32'Contender center console which theylassoed, tied up on the side of the boat and towed back to shore safely. Eastern Shore has tons of deer around and for some reason the deer often try and make it accross, not sure why, maybe because on a clear day you can see the other shore.

ORIGINAL: GMMAT Nah, teeJay....they asked him if they picked it out. He said "HUH"? "Picked"??? "Hell naw....We jerked at MF'er out of the &$%#^# water"! When asked about how the scenario truly unfolded.....they couldn't be reached for comment. One of the unemployed men had gone to Wrestlemania IV with his second son from histhird wife.....and the other was at Bingo. |

I was fishing with my brother out at our local lake and we were a good 1/3 mile from shore and seen a deer swimming by across the lake. The total distance was probably about 1 mile and the deer was swimming pretty fast and appeared to make it all the way across. It was a neat thing to see. We just trolled right on by it and it kept on going.

Cool pictures when I used to guide in northwestern Ontario we would see them swim across the river but no where near that far. The moose would swim further but again not that far! Coolest I have seen is a cinnamon colour phase bear swimming across the lake will have to see if I can dig out the picture.

That's pretty cool. 1.5 miles is a ways out there. He doesn't seem to mind being in the boat too much, or posing for pictures.

I've seen lots of deer swimming the rivers during the season while duck hunting. Some pretty big bucks as well. I know a fellow duck hunter took a picture of a beautiful deer swimming the river and posted it up on the fuge...I'll see if I can find it. |
RE: Ever seen anything like this?
Yep seen plenty of deer swimming in lakes and rivers in Fla, 1.5miles out is hard to believe seems like the deer would have been exhausted at the 1 mile mark
