Before I took my first whitetail.....I was holding out for something "memorable". It was frustrating, a little, to have deer after deer go by that I didn't want to be my "first".

I've nowthought about how a lot of people hunt....and how few deer a lot of people actually see. Some shoot whatever comes by (legal)...and there's nothing wrong with that. I'd have to think the pressure, for them is "OFF". If they see a deer.....they're shooting. What an absolutely fun way to sit and wait.....knowing you're gonna likely shoot if you have ANY deer come into range.

My son has that carte blanche directive this year....and to an extent, I do, too (as long as it's female). THAT will make this year exciting, for me. "Brown-doe is Down-doe". Knowing I'm going to be shooting, more, will be exciting. Just think if you could (and needed to) shoot EVERY doe that walked by. That'll be my season, this year.

I walked into the woods every time, last year (less 1).....looking for a shooter buck. I won't do that once, this year. NO PRESSURE! I'm going to have fun....and.....

I need to buy more arrows.....

Actually for me, having the intent/hope on shooting every deer I see is not fun. That is "pressure" for lack of a better term. I like sitting there and not having to shoot at every given opportunity.

I can alomst here DoctorDeath in the back gorund. "Number 13 is down". J/K Jeff. Enjoy the slaughter fest. I think you will get sick of gutting and processing deer in a short time.

Moho...I thought about that...and I don't want to give the wrong impression. I don't think I could shoot 10 deer on a bet......the entire season. Lisa and I have a family that we donate items to.....and I've given them venison in the past. They have TWELVE kids. It'll keep me going...knowing it's going to a good cause.

Rybo....I just think about all the times I saw deer last year.....only to never reach for the bow. That's what i was talking about. I'll reach a lot more, this year.

And I might get TOTALLY FOOLED. I'm saying I'll take 7 or 8. i might not take 3. I don't have any way to judge it, intelligently. Unchartered waters.

If you really want to help them pay to have him nutted.

Come on, you really think your victory is in the bag dont ya? I'd be inclined to think the heat is on, or else you'll be postin some pics.


But anyway i know what your sayin, I do some game management hunts locally and it is refreshing to just go out w/ one simple goal. Its nice not being worried about the pursuit of a giant.

Reminds me of a joke

Lady marries a man and they have 12 children. He widows her and she re-marries.....having 8 more children. Being widowed again.....she has 6 more children.

When she passes......the preacher is giving her eulogy.....and says to the people there....."at least they'll now be together".

When he says this.....one of the children asks....."Well....when you say that.....do you mean 'together' with her first husband.....her second husband....or her third husband.

Preacher says...."I was talking about her legs".

It will be harder for you to shoot a big buck shooting a bunch of does. You'll be introducing alot more scent into that area for one thing You might even be taking the shot at a doe and not know the big boy is there and then your busted. God forbid you wound one and have to go into thickets looking for her and ole big boy happens to be bedded there that day.Or my personal favorite dragging one up the hill and looking up and there he stands.lol.

I'm OK with this, Charlie.....and you're right. No way around it, though. Might be the same thing, next year. We'll see.
