Bowhunt Video

This was on the MI site.

Why I do not hunt over bait. Watch how far the deer drops. Shows the recovering also. Kid made a good shot!

Im just curious as to what the bait has to do with how far the deer drops?

They are more on alert in some areas over bait

I see what you mean Germ. I'm surprised the kid didn't go home and pack a lunch to hike that 40 yds. Quite the trek.

Pressure matters also. Look at the timeyou first saw the deer 5:23. Then look at the time on the video when you see the deer eating 5:27. It takes awhile for a deer to come into a setup and get relaxed enough to eat.

then look at the body language of the deer, This deer is not fully relaxed when he shot.

Yeah i noticed that! It is true as i think of it, I am one of the few people that do hunt over bait(go ahead let the bashing begin)! But i actually start baiting around mid july through the season and if a new deer does come into the bait that i have never seen they definantely do not know how to act! I just never really put any thought into it but u do make a good point!

Hard to tell for sure with the poor audio quality, but the noise from the bow didnt help the cause. Seemed noisy to me.

That was actually a pretty good quality video. There was some good editing too. They faded out for the few minutes the deer was getting comfortable with the bait. Then they had a few slow 'mo's of impact. Overall a nice video especially to have been done by himself im guessing. Also, that shoulder blade shot is kind of a product of shooting at a quartering towards you deer. It wasn't quartering that bad and was a good shot.

Looked as if the deer drooped 3 feet

think how fast that deer dropped. that's in slo-mo, it doesn't even start dropping until the arrow is very close. incredible twitch. i'd heard they were fast, but i didn't know it was that fast.
