mechanical---tighter groups and more forgiveness...shooting instinctavly takes loads of time...working on it my self and its no easy task---instinctavly (as in without sights) your HAVE to shoot with fingers
I lost you a little there but if you are shooting with fingers I would not use a prong rest pr drop away. Your fingers can or couldcurl a bit when you draw and roll the string just enough to move it off of the rest. Plus if you are right handed your spine of the arrow will probably allow it to bow to the right, against the riser. I would use a plunger type rest or a very simple stick on flipper type in an adjustable plate that screws into your bow.

Does that make any sense? It is fun and challenging. I sure dont hunt that way though.

Qualifying for a tournament class?

RE: Question??????

Good old Ted Nugent shot without sights 99% of the time with his compounds. You don't need a recurve or longbow to shoot instinctively. You can shoot with fingers or like Ted with a release it don't matter, what matters is you set up the bow to shoot with fingers or a release(rest etc).

RE: Question??????

I guess if you want to shoot EXTINCTLY........you could always spin it around and fire it back at yourself.;)

But to answer your question......I have no idea. When I was waiting for my sights to be returned...I tried shooting instinctively for a few shots. Let's just say I had to do a little arrow hunting from 10 yds.

Practice...practice...practice.
Yep, you won't know until you try it. And you won't get better until you keep doing it.
