Default Well, what about this year?

I posted this question last year before season opened, and I found it interesting. So I'm posting it again this year.

I started last year w/ the goal of shooting my first archery buck. That didn't happen, BUT I had the best year I've had to date. I saw FAR more bucks last year than any previous, and I did manage to take 2 does (my other goal for last year.)

Pretty much the same this year, with one exception. I want to appreciate more this year of what God created andhas given me (us) and use that better understand His love for me (us.) Same goals otherwise......8 point buck and a couple does.

How bout ya'll? What are your goals for the upcoming archery season?

A few "goals":

1) First and foremost.....I don't want to loose an arrow that I'm not PROUD of.

2) It's time to thin the doe herd. I'm going to do my part, this season.

3) No bucks taken that I won't put on the wall.....(unless it's due to injury).

4) Hunt less - Take more. I won't be picky when it comes to female deer.

5) Put my son on his first archery tackle deer. ANY deer.

What does that mean?

Bob:

I took 3-4 shots at deer, last year, that.....in hindsight....I wish I hadn't ever sent down range.

I don't want to ever do that, again. The mistake was made in MY MIND.....before I sent my arrow. Simply....I made a few poor decisions. Luckily....I made clean misses on those brain farts.

I don't want to ever do that, again. It's part of MY maturing as a bowhunter.

My maingoalis to get out more this year. The last 3 seasons I've been involved in getting my master's degree, moved into a new house, and we had our first child (2 years old now). This year, I'm done with school, things with the house are settling down and I don't have any major projects going, and my son wants to see daddy bring home a big buck.

I think with goal number one achieved my other goals will fall into place. I'd like to take my first NJ buck in 3 seasons as well. Even better if he is a velvet buck.

I'd also like to get into taxidermy this year.

Get my little girl a bow she can target shoot. She's age 6 and about 40 lbs.. Wants to go with Dad to "Kill Stuff" for alack of a better term but that is what she says.

Film Hunts.

I don't have a problem with the creation. I am in awe every day. I am such a masculine stud that it does not take much natural beauty to bring tears to my eyes.

A gap that was covered with "Indian Blanket". I forgot the hogs for a minute.

Same exact thing here in da woods.

I would like to take a doe and a 6pt. buck or better. But since I also rifle hunt, I will be very happy with a bow doe.

Germ, now you are making me feel like I set my goals just a little bit short. [&:]
