How often, all day sits in a hangon stand
#2
Anytime I'm hunting whitetails in November I'm in the stand all day.
If I need to stand, I stand.
If I need to stretch, I do it.
I'm sitting the majority of the day, but I stand during the "golden hours." Interestingly enough, I've never taken a standing shot.

I sit all day quite often. I buy big comfortable stands with large platforms. I will stand for a while sit for a while, switch things up. I make sure my clothing is comfortable and I usually have a Good Book to read or something else to chase away boredom.

Iam turning a new leaf this season. I will try harder to sit all day during the rut. I have a few times but it is tough. ADHD or something. I should really try still hunting more.
Is anyone good at still hunting? If you are how do you do it.

If its november and sometimes late october if things are right I'm out all da, weather permitting. Although ive seen quite a few deer during mid day Ive never taken one after 900am or before 400pm go figure. It will happen soon enough.

I voted one day per season simply because I only have one hang-on stand (the rest are ladders and climbers). As Wash said, when it hits November...I'm sitting. Multiple times I have questions 'what am I doing' when it is slow and I'm still sitting at 12:30 in the afternoon. Then my questions is quickly answered when I see a buck on the prowl at 1:00 when normally I would be at home napping for an evening hunt.

I never sit all day. Even if I have all day to hunt, I will break for lunch whenever that may be. Sometimes it is 10:00 AM or 1:00 PM. It all depends on what's going on. Even if it is the rut, part of my hunting experience is getting out of the tree and coming up with a game plan for that evening whilst me and the boys eat and relax for a bit.
That is part of the fun for me. I guess if I hunted alone frequently I would be more committed to sitting all day.
