Greg/MO has a thread kickin around somewhere on how to make a cresting machine to crest your own arrows. Well, I followed his instructions, and while my crester ain't exactly a swiss watch (I'm workin on it still), I was able to crest up a few of my aluminums for my recurve and this old carbon shaft is a proto-type for what I'll be doing on my FMJs, although I think I'm gonna switch a few colors around.

Just thought I'd share! Thanks again Greg! If anyone else has any they have done....post'em up!

Great looking crests. I really hate the vinyl wraps - think they look cheap and tacky - but I definitely love the look of a hand-crested arrow/feathers. It's throwback, ya know? It's just nocking your arrow, knowing that you (or somebody else) spent a pretty good chunk of time, painstakingly designing and marking the pattern on it...just like our grandfathers did... and their grandfathers did.

With all our high-tech gadgetry, it's nice to have a little bit of throwback in there, IMO.

I should probably make my cresting guy teach me how to do my own. He won't be doing it forever.

Nice looking crests. Sure does look sharp.

I hear you there. Something about it just makes you feel good about yourself.

SwampCollie, those are flat-out awesome-looking!!

Hey, could I get you to do me a favor? Would you mind posting that pic on my "instructional cresting" thread? I kinda get a kick out of seeing the results from that thread these days, and who knows? Maybe it'll bump it up for someone else who's interested in doing what you just did.

Thanks... and -- again, those are awesome!!
