Default Which ST for my set up???

I shoot a 60# and 26 inch draw at what im guessing is around 275 FPS because Martin says the Bengal is supposed to shoot 310 but with my shorter dl im not sure if it actually does. Anyway i am convinced on the ST's and i want to know if i should get the Magnums or Standards? i like the thicker blades on the Magnums but someone told me that i wouldnt get as good of penetration.

Thanks

starting at 310 and subtracting 10 fps for everi inch of draw length loss puts you at 270 to start. Then subtract 10 pounds draw weight. Then add in string accessories and a heavier than IBO spec arrow and you will be much closer to 230 - 240 fps.

Both the standard and magnums have .035" thick blades so don't worry about that. Only the 85 grain model uses thinner .030" thick blades.

PersonallyI would purchase the standards rather than the magnums just because they will penetrate a little better than the magnumsand a 1" cutting diamerter four blade still cuts more tissue than a 1-3/16 inch three blade (thunderhead, Muzzy, etc...).

I was told that for deer with a fast rig no reason not to use Magnums (these are the original size). If you can get a pass through the larger cutting diameter would be preferred.

If a slower rig or hunting bigger game, use the Regular size for more penetration.

I agree, go with the standard size. I shot a doe with teh standards and a buck with the magnums last year, and both were equally dead. Good choice on heads either way!
