This is a very interesting thread. I am not sure it will hold up for the remainder of the summer.. but I wish it luck.

My goal for the 2007 archery season really has no inch minimum... but I'll humor this none the less.

I'll be hunting public land alot and really will take any 2.5 year old or better who scores better than 110"...?

On any private grounds I hunt 3.5 or better will be my goal.. and I'd guess that will be at least a 120" deer.

But I'll take a 100" anywhere on a stalk.. love the stalk I do!

My personal goal in 2007 is to get a chum of mine to take his firstdeer with a bow. This will be his second season in the deer woods.

does are does......that being said im shooting the smallest one i see (regardless if its solid brown) for taste or else the biggest doe i see if i think itll dress out at 130 or 140. my local outdoor store runs a big doe contest and the last couple winners have been 130-140 and you win 1000 bucks.

bucks are iffy. im confident that with a gun, itll top 100 prob 110 or even 120.

ive never killed a buck with my bow so ill say if it has 8 points its down, if its a basket rack that almost reaches its ears, itll probably go down. hard to hold off that trigger finger when it has never killed before.(bow that is)

Well, nothing like public scorn to hold one to their word!

For bow: 150"
For early muzzle loader: 180" (I'm thinking 200 ).
Shotgun season(l'll be using a muzzleloader):150"

Does? I'll be shooting lots, so I'll brag about the biggest ear spread.

ORIGINAL: markj

ORIGINAL: shed33

4.5 year olds and older..
We will need a photo of the jawbone!
All's most need is just Shed33 word on here. As Motown would say... Gospel !!

150 with the archery tag.

If I draw a General Season tag ( lottery/ 2.5 weekhunting season )... 140with bow or 150 with rifle. Not brave enough yet to take the training wheels off and leave the rifle home. Would like to fill that tag with bow though since I never have.

Oh and Motown better not say... gay rifle hunter cause that ain't Gospel !!

75" for a buck
confirmation that its a doe and not a button, is all i need to shoot a doe.

sorry guys, but i hunt for the meat, and the enjoyment - if i shoot a nice buck, excellent, if i shoot a basket 6 point, excellent

but then again, since i dont bowhunt with a buddy (i'm the only bowhunter on the 650 acres i'll be hunting in wv this year), i guess i cant really have a testimonial, now can i? [8D]

4 1/2+ year old that should go 150"+

There's one 6 1/2 year old 4x4 that will only go 140ish on one of the tracts I hunt and honestly, I will shoot 'em if given the chance simply because we've collectedhis sheds from the past 4 seasons, but on all other tracts I want a 150"+ mature animal. Came oooooohhhh so close to a Booner last year and hope I can get 'em just a little closer this season. Only 2 Buck tags in IL, regardless of weapon choice, so must use them very wisely. Good luck to all of ya this Fall
