My name is Doug Steinke and I organize a cancer benefit called "Hunting Down Cancer" our web site is www.huntingdowncancer.org I'm primarly a waterfowler, but I've been lurking on here lately since one of my diehard bow hunitng friends sent me to look at this forum. I've posted this hunt on the classifed area a while back, but it looks like there is more traffic on this area of the forum. I came over here because our benefit had donated to it an archery elk hunt. I can honestly tell you I don't know much about the big game arena other than I've been warned that if I think watching geese settle into a spread is addicting it is nothing compared to a 140 point buck walking underneath your stand. So, I'd like to bring to your attention what we are doing and perhaps there might be some intrest in the hunt.
Last year we generated just under $11,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF). This year again we are raising proceeds for the LAF or LIVESTRONG as it as known.
Your guide will be Mike Miller of Loco Mountain Outfitters out Cotopaxi, CO. and he has selected the absolute best time for the chance of a big bull in that area. Loco has landowner permits that can be purchased so there is no need for drawing a tag if you need one. In addition to the hunt, Sportsman Warehouse has donated $250 to go along with this hunt and it can be use to help purchase your tag if needed. We will run the auction for this hunt starting tomorrow on ebay. You will be able to find this hunt by doing a search for "HDC ElK". We will be running off many more waterfowl type hunts starting August 5th, but we needed to get this hunt off quickly to help the winner make plans. If you have any questions email me at [email protected] or email Mike.
All of your money will go directly to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
Thank you for looking.

Where: South West Colorado
WHEN: September 19th to September 23rd
Host: Loco Mountain Outfitters Guide Mike Miller
Notes: What you are bidding on is a 5 day 6 night archery elk hunt with Loco Mountain Outfitters in beautiful SW Colorado. This private ranch has over 3,500 acres of great hunting terrain, with the ranch starting at 9,000 feet and going up to 11,300 feet. This is high altitude hunting at its best.

The winner of this hunt will receive contact information to coordinate pick up time from the airport, any special needs for this hunt, and to answer any questions.

Doug,
Welcome to the site…
I have called several of the phone numbers listed and have gotten through to the correct outfitters and it appears all is in order. The reason I say this is most people who come on here and see a listing like this from someone who has only 2 posts usually take their time responding while trying to get a feel for the post. I think this is a great idea and welcome you as well as wish you good luck. I’m looking forward to the auctions…
