to a car...
I was driving down my road last night and about 300 yards from my hunting grounds and house, there was a deer in the ditch. It looked pretty swelled up so i figured a doe and a little one inside, but curiosity made me turn around and go check it out. When I got up to it I realized it was a buck. It had about 6-8 inches growing out of his head already. he looked to be 2-3 yrs, but was hard to tell due to the bloating. He was starting to get a little rank too [&:]. Wish he hadnt fallen to a car, but it's part of it.
Also, is anyone else having a bad drought? It's been about 2 weeks since we actually got a decent rain. That mixed with that late last freeze we had, I'd say the acorn crop is going to be bad, which usually means more deer sightings!

Such is the ways of our land.
Up here we have had quite a bit of rain. Most all of last week and between last night and this morning we had 2.5" The road coming into camp looks like it might wash out.[&:]

You must live in a swamp. If we got a good rain once a month, we would think that hell must have frozen over. Or the Vikings won the Super Bowl.
Too bad the buck didn't live another few months. 6-8 inches of growth at this time of year would probably be a good buck this fall.

Sounds like here, minus the wildfires. We must not live far apart. We've had 2 instances in the past 2 weeks where an afternoon thunderstorm popped up dumped a few sprinkles and left. It's weird I tell ya
