Well, I think that 21" is on the small side for a buck of that size. Most of the ones that I get mounted, that field dress between 190 and 205, have 23-24" forms. The 220 lb deer I shot in Ill. had a 28" form. Most of these were shot in November. Usually earlier season deer have slightly smaller forms.

I took the deer in Nov 06 and just kept the antlers until then. He told the mounts were drying pretty quick.

I would question the being ready in 2 weeks

Does 21 inches seem right for the circumference of the neck on a mount judging by my pic of this buck? I went and brought the rack in last friday and should be ready in 2 weeks. The son showed me the form and seemed small.

No looks about 12''

No, I'm not. I have 17 shoulder mounts and have watched almost all of them get caped out and measured. The measurement is taken just under the jaw bone.
