is it hard to shoot a very fast bow

i heard a guy say its harder to shoot a fast bow. i think it would shoot better group, becaus eyour arrow will get to the target faster then less time for your arrow to move around.
thanks

It is what makes a bow fast that makes it unforgiving to shooters mistakes or form flaws.

Short axle to axle bows coupled with low brace heights and radical cams can be very difficult to shoot.

Now add that to a fixed blade broadhead that doesn't like to be flung fast anyway, then you have a very touchy setup.

It has to do with short brace height. Just like anything else. The faster it is the more the mistake is punished.

Shorter brace height generally equates to faster arrow speed. However, that comes at a price *USUALLY* Shorter brace height normally magnifies errors in your shooting form.

harder to shoot yes, but they can still be shot. My current hunting rig is an Alpine Silverado its going around 320-318 and it shoots great.

Your arrow "won't move around" if everything coincides with one another reguardless of how fast you shoot.

Like said, it's not so much the speed of the arrow, but how the bow is designed and the trade offs you need to make the speed. That being said all bows made now are fast compared to those of 10 years ago and some are pretty forgiving.

Another thing to consider is the amount of energy the newer faster bows put into an arrow, and how the arrow is designed. This effects dynamic spine and can also effect forgiveness. In my opinion the more energy you have the better the arrows you should have so they are closer matched from arrow to arrow.

I personally don't think brace height is that big of deal as long as you are not getting slapped in the arm by the string. I think Axle to Axle and Reflexed risers are a bigger problem.

Or being over bowed. Many draw more weight than they should or fudge their draw length in order to gain speed, which makes your bow much harder to shoot well.

it depends on brace hight

It can be, but ifyou havea very strick follow through, it will work well for you regardless of brace height. I always hear people say fast bows will punish you on your shots. A fast bow only punishes those who have terrible form when shooting. I recently picked up Hoyt's fast bow (The Vulcan) and at first was not shooting tight groups, but the flaw was in my form, not the bow. I corrected it and am now shooting 2" groups at 60 yards. Not great, but not bad.;)

Take Care and God Bless!
