How many already know...

I know exactly the tree I'll be in for opening morning. I hunted that tree twice, last year......and that location on 3 mornings. To be honest.....it was late in the year when I hunted it.....and I really just want to see what it's like on that tract in the mornings.....during the early season.
I'm betting I see some deer, too.....
REGARDLESS of where the deer go to eat (which crop fields)......they're gonna come "home" pretty much the same way. Iset upclose to "home".......and I'll get in there EARLY (4-4:30am). I'm already looking forward to a little nap that morning.....and watching and HEARING the woods come alive, again.
I'm guessing second Saturday in Sept.........

I have no idea where I will be sitting opening morning. Too many variables.
I do know, however, the tree I will be in November 4. Tradition. No matter what the sign tells me I always hunt the same stand on that day. Stupid... maybe, but I enjoy it so who cares?

In NJ I have an idea, but it will be determined by the wind as to which actual stand I am in. No way to know that until the night before.
In PA I may have a dilemma. My 15 year high school reunion is on the evening of the opener so I'll have to be in the Pittsburgh area at that time. I may stop in to my rifle camp if its open and hunt a saddle on a ridge leading to a bedding area. If it's not, I may have to wing it and hit one of my old haunts and hope the deer still move like they used to.
