Best Hunting Arrow
Ok, Im looking at getting new arrows... Right now i shoot Gold Tip pro hunters 5575...
I want to get a new arrow that can handle 125 grn tips @ 27" 72# Im leaning towards just getting GT 7595's, but I was looking for some opinions on a good arrow. Easton A/C/C's are my next choice. I should also note that im looking to try a heavier shaft than what i have now.. for noise reduction. |
RE: Best Hunting Arrow
I have been using AXIS for the past few years with excelent results. This year I am going to give the Full Metal Jackets a try for hunting. They are a heavy arrow,11.1 gpi for the 340's,don't quite understand your last line if that is what you are looking for or not. I have been shooting them in the backyard for a few weeks now. They seem to fly very well for me.

RE: Best Hunting Arrow
I just bought some A/C/C's an I like them so far, got the 3-60's. I have a 27 1/2 draw, bow is at 65 Lbs. I like the way they shoot. That is about all I can tell you other than that, have not shot adeer with one yet. They are exspensive.

I like Carbon Tech arrows myself. You could get the Whitetail XP's or if you wanted a heavier arrow you could try the Rhino XP's.
I recently got 12 Whitetail XP's and they all spun straight and the ones I have paper tested had a consistant spine. Others that I know that use these arrows have nothing but good things to say about them. http://www.carbontecharrows.com/ |

Second the FMJ's i didnt get to shoot a deer with em but i am glad i made the switch from 5575s to these 400's much quieter bow and they paper tune well and nothing pulls outta a foam target easier.;)

RE: Best Hunting Arrow
I prefer the Easton Epics, mildly priced, look great, and they killed my buck so they worked for me.

RE: Best Hunting Arrow
If you are wanting to add weight and decide on an aluminum/carbon, you might want to consider the Easton A/C Superslims in the 340 or 300.

RE: Best Hunting Arrow
Why not the new goldtipCAA aluminum carbon arrows? I have 2x dozen on the way to try out right now, if I like them enough I might hunt with them, and use them for field archery. All the benefits of goldtips pin nock system, and all the characteristics of the ACC that so many like. They have them in a .500 spine to a .300 spine which are directly comparable in weight, spine, and outside diameter to ACC 3-28's to 3-71's. They are +/- .002 straightness and are weight sorted to +/- .5 grains.
I have their .340 spine coming and they weigh in at 9.5 grains per inch. Exact specs of a 3-60 ACC. |
