ive been looking on google on the satellite maps for places to hunt. my question is, how do i know whose property if whose? is there an easier way than just knocking on doors and asking around?

You can go to the court house and buy a plot book. They sell them here for about $10, nice tool for getting permission.

Go your town's Assessors office.They will have a map of every property in your town with the owners name or name's.Or do what I do just go hunt it!!(Kidding!!)

In Maryland you can search the Real Property database online and it will give you the landowner and their currently registered address. It will also let you look at property maps to see exactly where the property lines are. You can get there by going to the MD website and taking the search the real property databse link. Perhaps your state has something similar on their website. If not then you can follow the other suggestions.

I use a plat map, but it's sometimes hard to compare to a topo or an aerial. You do get a pretty good idea so it's worth buying.
