Theres no spot for "I wear blue jeans and a cheap camo jacket under a blaze orange vest"... lol 9 for 9 without any scent eliminating stuff. Personally I cant see spending a ton of money on clothes that will probably get trashed. just my 2 cents

Alright, I tried to avoid it, but apparently it just can't be done. [&o]
We aren't talking about "need" here.....I mean after all, we don't NEED compound bows, aluminum and/or carbon arrows, sights, rests, stabilizers, camo, tree stands, or blinds for that matter.
To each their own on what they decide to/not to spend their money on. If someone doesn't want to spend the money on ScentLok, fine. I was that way for several years. But as can plainly be seen in my original post on this thread, the decision to buy it has already been made. Now the question becomes what exactly and making statements about it not being worth the money is a moot point.....There have been a ZILLION threads here as to whether or not it's worth the money....If that wants to be hashed out again I ask that one of those threads be re-opened, please don't do it here.
Oh, and I say this as respectfully as I can, I'm not cranky about it at all.

The majority of people who say it doesn't/won't work are those who haven't used it and are basing their opinions soley on articles found online. I'm guilty of it myself, which is why I'm buying some to try this fall.
At least that way I can make an opinion after actually using the product.
The fact that I'll get a fat discount doesn't hurt either.

I bought an APX Scentlock suit. I try to always get quality when I can, and most of my camo is APX. It is well made and fits well. I am not ever going to say that it will enable me to 'forget the wind', but I def think it has some effectiveness, and I need all the edge I can get.

Just because other folks do it doesn't mean I have to.

I've wore layers of Scent-Lok since '96 and continue to add more and more pieces to my carbon wardrobe every season and it's my strong opinion that the Base Layers are the most ineffective garments that they've made to date. They just aren't more than breathable underwear... not impressive at all. I would MUCH rather keep my under layers as scent free as possible and then go with an over layer of carbon. It is vital that your outlayer leave no trace to and from your stand, I believe this is key to a successful whitetail strategy and seems to be getting more and more overlooked as folks buy just the newer under layers. Just my 2 cents, good luck
