High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
Guys just found this site today and wrote them an e-mail.
thebestdeerhunt.com They just seem to have popped up in my county! And what they do really torques me! Please check this website out and right them an e-mail like the one below. Just want them to know thatreal huntersdon't like this, and give them a little hell for it. If your a "fair chase" opperation that means that you allow the game animal the chance to get away, making it "FAIR"! If you do "free chase" hunts that means that you put the deer in a 600 acre HIGH-FENCE pen and lead some idiot by the hand to the deer and say "ok, shoot him". No Outfitter on the planet offers gauaranteed hunts unless they are in a high-fence area! This means they are not outfitters they are kill brokers! You don't come out and say you are a high-fence opperation, but you are. 1. You use High-powered rifles: Illegal in OH (unless inside high fences) 2. You don't require hunting permits: Illegal ANYWHERE! (unless inside high fences) 3. You hunt in August: Illegal in OH (unless inside high fences) 4. Your guides don't field judge deer, they "field price" them. 5. Any hunt is a good hunt: Not true you say! 6. All hunts are royal hunts: The deer must gross at least 220" to be a royal hunt for you! I am sorry that your greed has blured your vision of this great sport that some of us partake in! I am sorry to see an opperation such as yours come to a county like Holmes county. Its no wonder people want to stop hunting all together. THANK YOU!!! Thank you Dutchmen's High-Fence Huntin' for Pussies Paradise for reading this. Thanks again P&Ychaser!! |

I like this one too, its in the FAQ area.
6. What if I don't get the buck I want? You pay on score or guide can price the buck during the hunt. |

This was my response in my email:
4. Your guides don't field judge deer, they "field price" them. |
RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
Yeah, it sucks and this isnt hunting, but in reality there isnt a whole lot that you, or any of us can do. Writing them an email wont change the way they do things...

your right it wont, but i am one of those people that takes shots in the dark on stuff like this, not when i hunt though!;):D

RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
I am against high-fence hunting in general, but if someone were to try to open up a hunting ranch where I live, he'd have to have a high fence. Not to keep the game inside, but to keep poachers out.

RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
Guy's it's 600 freaking acres. Do you realise how big that is? If your bow hunting think of a 30 yd shot. I have no qualms about it for two reasons. One it's a place effectively managing their deer for profit. 2 If someone can afford it then great. Relax, you just found out there is another 600 acres you can't hunt.

RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
Go and cut the fence at night.

RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
It's private land, it's their right to fence it and IF they choose to operate a deer "Farm" then that's there choice. I personally am NOT for this type of "killing" but it would anger me if someone tried to tell me what I can and can't do with MY own land.

P&Y Chaser,
I grew up in Mansfield, so this isn't far from my old back yard either! I guess I am torn, while I think any "wild" animal should have the chance to be able to escape and that deer shouldn't be kept as livestock, I see the viewpoint that these people can host as many rich, lazy pansies as they want on their own land. My favorite part of their website is the following pic: ![]() If this doesn't turnout, you can see it here Yes, buddy, you and your tattoos are all man shooting a farm raised deer that probably was hand-fed for the first few years of it's life with a high-powered rifle from a distance of probably less than 100yards after a guide led you to the deer and probably wiped your ass after you went #2. You sir, are all man. |
RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
dj, i know that pic is a joke! That was one of the first pics i really looked at, and was the first that really told me this was a high-fence opperation. The rifle tipped me off;). Well i hope this guy likes his deer that he can't enter in the books!:D

RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
Its simple to eliminate places like this you eliminate their market teh weak hunter. A person that pays to go kill livestock in a fence has a differnt type of personality and doing this makes them feel like more of a hunter. If you belittle the fact about this kind of hunting to them they will feel shame. Shame the peopel from doign it start clubs bumper stickers or whatever. Making people feel as if they will be the butt of everyones joke then they will think twice about doing it. Take away the hunters the ranch will soon go.

Ye we have a similar matter going on across the river from our property in Neillsville WI. From what I have heard is the owner of the local pro shop in town, who happens to be the mayors son, is supposed to be locking his leased land down after he buys it and is supposed to be putting up a high fence and charge for hunts. Im totally against this as well as many other neighbors. A few years back we shot a possible county possibly state record buck off our land, it crossed the river went ontoa good friends lease and wegot permission to to track across hisand find it.I found the last spot of blood on the land right at the fencethat the pro shop owner leases. Sowe packed up and headed back to thefarm, gave him a call and he refused to let anyone in there at all, not even if there were no weapons. The buck was never retrieved by us but is probably sitting on his wall. Ohh this gets better. After i had bought some arrows from him last year, I had heard from my wifes cousin who heard it from a friend of the pro-shop owner, that he was recently on the land with the pro-shop owner and apparently he has several huge activebunker feeders on the property for the deer. This is illegal in Wi. it seems he has so much pull as hes the mayors son. I will not step foot in his shop ever again after hearing about the feeders. The down fall of it is now the closest pro shop is 25 miles away, but I do have one right across from where I work. I am strongly thinking about giving the DNR an anomous tip about the bunker feeders on his property. Do you think I should?

ORIGINAL: wis_bow_huntr I am strongly thinking about giving the DNR an anomous tip about the bunker feeders on his property. Do you think I should? That being said, legally operated fenced hunting places are just that .... legally operated. To each his own .. this has to be the most popular topic on here ..... why do people feel the need to bust on what someone else is doing???? It's LEGAL!!!! For the record, I wouldn't pay money to do it ..... just needed to say that in case someone thought I was trying to protect the way I hunt...... What is that popping noise? ![]() ![]() |

Relax, you just found out there is another 600 acres you can't hunt. 600 acres ain't no small place. And with limited places to run to, those deer are going to become skittish REAL FAST if they start getting a lot of pressure. A canned hunt to me, is shooting tame/domesticated animals inside small enclosures (less than 100 acres). I don't even mind shooting pen raised quail (especially for training a new puppy, or keeping a dog in shape for an upcoming trip, the dog doesn't know the difference). If someone wants to pay money to shoot a domesticated animal inside a fence...heck let'em, its not like someone is forcing you to do it. |

I find it strange that guys around here get so worked up about high fence. I believe that the only reason you guys care is because the guy that pays to shoot a buck has a mount with a bigger rack than yours. So now you can't be happy with the one you have because you need one bigger than that guy.
If you are a horn hunter you have to compete against yourself. If you are going to sit there and hem and haw about deer being killed for money or whatever then stop buying store bought food. Do you really want to stop high fence hunting? Here's how! As a collective group stop hunting for horns, don't mount your deer and don't talk about racks!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck Tom |

You know I don't like high fenced hunting. But what really gets me sick is people that lets it bother them so much. Worry about your own hunt, your own deer, your own equipment.
I am regulated and legistated to death. Everybody wants more and more rules put on them. |
RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
I have hunted a 600 acre parcel of private land and also millions of acres of public land and 600 acres aint crap!!!!!!!!!!!A wild deer can cover the distance from one side of that 600 to the other in jut a few minutes if it needed to.
But it's their land and if they want to cater to those that have something to prove to no one that actually cares then so be it. |
RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
I find these threads humorous.
I don't mind high fence hunting any more than I mind a guy going to the butcher to get a side of beef. I just don't wanna hear the guy that went to the butcher tell me how he stalked up on the great steer and took him with a 700 mag from 200yds...lol. I've posted that there are 2 questions I ask when I see a deer mount at a friend or acquaintence's house: 1- Where it was taken 2- What weapon was used (and the distance of the shot) "I" form "MY" opinion from there. |

Michael....that's JUST "my" opinion. I'm not passing judgement on anyone's "Accomplishments". I simply weigh them, PERSONALLY.
I think, deep-down......we all do this. I could be wrong. |
RE: High-Fence opperation in my area!! Please Read!!!
I think we all judge people whether we want to admit it or not. That judgement depends on a lot of factors that are unique to each individual.

This slaughter operation is no different than a cattle operation and I think most people can see that and would not equate it to "hunting" as much as you beleive that they would! Guaranteed Hunt Hunt to win! Call now to book a hunt. Hunts start in August Media has a way of blinding people to the truth. Look around at the young people of today and see how they believe everything they read and see. It is just another lie to the public that "this is what "hunting" is all about. Yes, I do believe the seasoned hunters of this world know the difference, but it is the next generation that needs to be taught the difference by us and not some lame form of media that promotes this type of so called hunting. I agree with the guys who say that 600 acres isnt crap for a fenced in operation, because its not.If my memory serves me right, Keith Warren did a TV show at that place either last year or the year before. I only rememberbecause its not too far from here. One of the biggest bucks i have seen taken on TV. Too bad he saw himEVERY DAY fora week before he got him....with a rifle or muzzleloader.

LT LT has it exactly right but, it's not just the next generation that is blindly lead away from the truth. It's the everydaynon-hunting man or woman. In the public arena, these kind of places are represented as the normal American hunt, which we all know it's not but most people dont! All fenced, tame deer shoots are very bad for all of us, and threaten the future of all hunting in America. Wake up and stop making excuses for these idiots!!! Send them an email and speak your mind.
