Default a pin for shots less than 20 yards?

what are your opinions guys? Do you need apin for 20 and under? I shot my turkey this year at 6 yards and hardly aimed low, hit him right where i wanted...with the speeds of bows today, do you need a pin for 20 and under? Do you have one?

For most bows today, sight paralax will take care of the drop for you.And yes,all bows ,no matter the speed, drop, even at 20 yards.

Only way I'd shoot anything other than my 20....is if I was taking a 2-3 yd shot. We had a 3 yd shot in a 3D shoot, this past Winter.....and I shot my 50yd pin. Perfect......though...as a somewhat novice archer.....it had to be proven to me...lol. It makes total sense if you think about it, though.

The first time I atempted a shot like that.....I remember putting my 20yd pin on it....and then looking out the side of my view window of my sight. I KNEW it wasn't gonna work. I honestly just shot it where I thought it looked right.....and later confirmed it was a 50yd pin shot for ME at that distance (or lack thereof).

Short answer to the question is NO. Speed's got nothing to do with it. I've never had a pin set for under 20 yards on any bow of mine, dating all the way back to the days of steel cables and wheel hangar brackets, when 210 fps was smokin'.

Actually, except for special tuning and testingpurposes,I quit using sights altogether about five years ago. Never used sights on myhunting bows anyway.

Anyone who uses pins should go out and practice enough to know which pin or where to hold their single pin on various distances and various scenarios.jmo.I'm not trying to argue or fight with anyone,i'm just saying get to know your gear!

I notice that your bubble is off slightly--you may need to re-sight all those pins!

It is bow and set up specific. Some bows you need a 10 and a 20, some just a 20. You would just have to shoot and see.
