There is nothing at all wrong with that bow. Itis what it is, an entry level bow for someone on a budget. It won't shoot as fast as many others, but it's not designed to be a speed burner. It'll have a sweet, easy draw cycle and do everything you need it to do - everything except rocket arrows downrange at 300 fps. If you want an ugrade in arrow speed, spend another 30 bucks and get the Nova.

Right on Arthur....I shoto a Nova with the S3 Cams sure they are plastic and small, but you know what, it draws better than some of the newer bows out there. Smooth and quiet with 65% let off. I bought my Nova new back in 2002 and love the bow. Im sure Ill get a new eventually, but why replace something that gets the job done and sometimes better than a highspeed bow. I have a friend that has a Mach11 that shoots so fast hes lost 3 deer in the last 4 years, great shots but hes shooting so fast he does very little damage there for not getting an adequate blood trail and the loss of some nice bucks. This guy can take out a dime at 28 yards. So its not shot placement errors.

Nobody said the bow was garbage. However, we did state that it's old technology. Either way he needs to get fitted. You are talking about keeping a bow you already have. He's purchasing a new one. Why pay full price for a bow that is really 5 yrs old? Even if built today?
Also, I call hi jinx on your statement that the reason your friend looses deer is because his bow is too fast. That's absurd. All of my shots on deer have passed thru and I've collected the deer within 60 yds of wereI shot them. A slow arrow or fast arrow does the same amount of damage when shot thru an animal. Therefore, he either is using crappy broadheads or isn't hitting them thru the vitals. Or, he needs to hone his tracking skills. The blood trail would be identical whether shot at 150 fps or 300 fps. It sounds like you are trying to use the theory that applies tohigh velocity rifles to bows.Arrows w/ broadheads are made to cut period.Take a knife thru something. Doesn't matter if you do it slow or fast it still cuts through it.
I'veheard ofpeople thatshoot great butmiss a deer at 15 yds. Heck I did it when I was 16 yrs old. Shot right thru the deer's rack. There's more to this story than the speed of the arrow.
Nobody is knocking PSE. We even said look at newer PSE's. If
Let me clarify. Why would you go to a car dealership and tell them you want the1986 HondaAccord instead of the 2007 model? Sure, the 86 is a good car/ But it makes no sense to pay '07 prices for an old model.
He might be able to find that same bow used for about $100 and have the $125 left over for other stuff. I'm not telling him to buy something else because it a lot faster. It just has newer technology and probably better overall. Plus, you aren't paying new prices for an old model.
