Default Big 6pt

I got this rack off a real old mount that a guy gave me. His beams are 22" & 23" with 4 1/2" bases. It's the biggest 6pt I've seen, thought I'd share it.

That is a nice 6 point. In someareas he would not be legal to shoot. Bucks must have 4 points on one side. One area of that law that doesn't make sense.

Yes buckhunter, here in Pa he would only be legal in certain WMUs as well.

That's a dandy six point. Yep, antler restrictions were put in place to make quality management "idiot proof", but there's a serious downside to passing up deer strictly based on the number of points per side.

Nothing wrong with a big 6. I got one pic of this one but never saw him while hunting. Check out the spread

Luckily here in Oregon the bucks only have to have one forked antler to be fair game.

i had to let one walk this year in bow season...i wont claim it to be that big...but man was it a big 6pt. atleast 16-18 wide and long tines. big brow tines, big long g2s and a nice wraped around end of the main beam on both sides....very nice buck. mass wasnt huge, but wasnt completely spindly either...definently 2.5 or 3.5. i had binocs on him trying to put that 4th point on to make him legal...couldnt even find a bump. i heard he was killed the first day of rifle and the guy swears up and down it had a 4th point[:@]...might have...but watching him for about 5 minutes from 50 into 25-30yds with binocs i couldnt find a hint of a point...bucks like that are bound to be killed in PA rifle season...just because they are big tooooo many guys will assume its legal...and alot of guys simply say its easier to count points when they are dead[:@]

If I saw a 6 that big that got to be that old I'd be tickled pink to take him. On one property I hunted there was a big old 6 that was heavy and wide and he was the big dog in that area. The other "bigger" bucks stayed clear of him. I would have loved to have take that buck.
