Default Des Moines Poachers

According to the news today, two poachers from Arkansas were arrested in Des Moines. The two were poaching deer within the city limits of Des Moines. Evidentially they had poached 7 deer. They were caught red handed dragging a buck out of a field.

I will post more info as I receive it. It should be in the DSM Register in the coming days which does have a web site.

I've heard there is more to the story than this,
unless there are two sets of poachers
from Arkansas. Nevertheless, there have been some
monster bucks poached this fall. It seems like
every other day I'm hearing of poachers getting
caught somewhere in our state...if they're catching
this many, how many are not getting caught? These
are some real upstanding "hunters"! Whatever their
penalty, it won't be enough...makes me sick. I
heard of a similar operation getting caught down
south, over a dozen mature bucks were shot with
the smallest being 140...all in the same county!
It takes years for those bucks to reach that level
and only a few days for some idiots with spotlights
and rifles to take them away.<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

There were 2 guys from S.C. caught in Monroe Cty. a while back. They prob. had some good ones.

Last year there was another group from NC or SC that were poaching up here.

Do you think Iowans go down there for monsters?<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Here is a link to the story-

http://www.state.ia.us/dnr/awild.htm...INES%20AIRPORT

...and another link to poachers getting caught-

http://www.state.ia.us/dnr/awild.htm...OACHING%20CASE

...when the page appears, a large red box w/a
'red x' will appear(???)...just scroll down
the page to get the links.

The thing that really boggles my mind is How?? can these people actually take credit or pride in taking these deer. What satisfaction do they truly get? I think it is pathetic.

Two Beards: Neither link seems to be valid. They both come up with something like &quot;the page you requested is no longer available&quot;.

David,
I just clicked the link and it took me right
there,however, a large empty box with a
'red x'is at the top of the page(???)...you
just need to scroll down. Links to both cases
are below. Let me know if you still have
trouble.

Here it is again. I pulled it from the Des Moines Register's website.

http://www.state.ia.us/government/dnr/awild.htm

There are 2 stories there about poachers in Iowa. I can't believe these people! I guess it's because we have such a reputation of having big bucks and the fact that it's so hard to get a nonresident license. I guess they figure they can get away with it because no one will notice them or figure they have permission to hunt there. WRONG! We notice all cars and trucks around here and if we see an out of state plate it's really suspicous.

KEEP IT LEGAL. KEEP IT SAFE. OR WE MAY NOT GET TO KEEP IT AT ALL.

AHhhhhhh.... the old scroll down manuver. Well, it looks like the two guys at the airport will be doing some hard time with BUBBA with the addition of the drug charges. I love it. Looks like they all lost a few hunting toys which is great. They should publish these reports in the peoples home towns just to make sure all their neighbors and hunting buddies(if they have any) know what kind of rascals they really are. These guys have to be the dumbest. Sounds like they were set up to do it again and again and again with the lockers and freezers in place. Perhaps we should put radio collars on them so it'll be easier to track them when they come out to try and make a few bucks to cover their fines.
