OK, let's not hijack my thread and start a sermon.

And the internet is also a good thing if used properly.
Why are you here if it's so bad? I pay my bills on line, converse with war buddies, book flights, book trips, buy things and learn.
I'd think it would be hard for someone to compete today if not internet savy.
There, I've held my own sermon. LOL You deny your kids the opportunity and yet you come here. Is that like one of those, Don't do as I do .... do as I say things.

I am going to hijack, but only slightly.
As far as the internet and children go, its all based on how the child is raised, not by how much supervision he or she has.
I've been allowed on the internet by myself since I was [about] 11. Since then I have not been abducted by predators, I haven't run up my parent's credit cards with bills for porn, and the internet hasn't been a problem for me. No where along the lines did I have any parental supervision while surfing the web.
Why?
Because I was raised well. I'm not saying that parent's who only allow their children supervised internet privlidges are raising their children poorly, however, a child who has been raised well shouldn't need supervision in order to keep them from being abducted or getting into trouble.
If you want to supervise your children or only allow them two hours a day online, thats fine, more power to you, but to restrict them completely from a resource that is so readily available to them is ridiculous.
/end rant

As far as restricting them from a resource that is readily available to them ... how is that ridiculous? All sorts of illegal activity is readily available ... should I not restrict those as well?? Ask them, they don't care! They believe it to be a waste of time ... should I force it on them?
Raise you children the way you want Dan ........ let me raise mine the way I want ....
