Even though we're doing well overall, it's still scary to me that nearly 26,000 people would vote to further restrict access to guns, and specifically handguns.

Voted at both. I agree the fact that the majority of the people are not for tighter gun controll will never make it to the news but should.

telling the truth about how most Americans feel about gun control would not fit their agenda.
Now if it was like 80% in favor of more gun control it would be headline news on every station and newspaper.

I did a paper about this sort of topic in college. According to the informationI found at that time the majority of guns used in crimes are illegally purchased and sold thru the black market from places like China, Korea, etcand come in on ships that the government is not willing to police. They are usually off name weapons bought for cheap. Not purchased at your local gun shop.

Unfortunetly, someone does something with legally purchased weapons and people that are not informed start screaming to enforce tougher laws with no clear direction or thought on what you could actually do to prevent this from happening again.

I see the poll is off MSN now. Wonder when they will announce the results?
