Rage: 2 or 3 Blade
This coming year I was going to switch to mechanical broadheads. I have heard good things about the Rage broadheads. I was wondering if you guys have tried them and which one you like best. Should I get the 2 blade which have 2" cutting diameter or 3 blade with 1.5" cutting diameter? Also, do they really fly just like practice tips? Thanks.

RE: Rage: 2 or 3 Blade
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!!!!! Go for the two blade, it's insanely devastating.....one of the best broadheads I've ever shot. I'm not a fan of mechanicals at all but this broadhead is probably the best I've ever shot besides the G5 Montec....GO FOR THE 2 You'll be happy!

RE: Rage: 2 or 3 Blade
I agree with BDH. The 2 blade is a killing machine. Get them early, last year the stores ran out andthey were going for $50+ for 3 on ebay.

RE: Rage: 2 or 3 Blade
Both are good heads. The two blades penetrate better but the 3 blade version has more overall cutting surface. I found the accuracy of both heads to be excellent.

RE: Rage: 2 or 3 Blade
I went with the 2 blade ..... the 3 blade has gotten some mixed reviews for durability...I love the idea of a 2 inch swath being cut ...

2 blades

RE: Rage: 2 or 3 Blade
Like everyone else said, i would go with the two blade as well. They penetrate better and have a larger cutting diameter. Ive never shot these but ive heard really good things about them

i would go with 2 blades

RE: Rage: 2 or 3 Blade
Go with the 3 blades, because I want to use the 2 blades next year and don't want them to run out of stock before I get them.;)

RE: Rage: 2 or 3 Blade
Add my name to the list of those in 100% agreement. I just got some Rage broadheads, and the two blade flies exactly like field points in all of my bows. I may still use the G5 Montec for elk, but the Rage should be "the one" for deer and antelope this year.
One thing that has been rolling around in my head about the two blade, though: I'm visualizing the head entering the ribs of a big game animal exactly perpendicular to the ribs. The gap between the ribs in quite a bit less than 2". Are the blades going to have enough umph to actually cut through the ribs on the way in? Or is this scenario going to damage the blades and/or slow the arrow down a bunch? |
