RE: G5 Small Game Head for Turkeys?
Im not saying I have or ever will but just for experimental sake I tried a small game head on a deer I killed last year. Now the deer was field dressed and I know it would make a big difference on a live animal but at 20yards the small game head shot completely through the deer breaking a rib on entrance and one on exit.

I believe I'd check the game laws in your state before attempting to use this head on BIG GAME.

RE: G5 Small Game Head for Turkeys?
I am thinking about trying a head/neck shot with one on a jake this year because i wouldnt risk it on a big tom.
I think that they would work but expandables are defenitely my choice! |
RE: G5 Small Game Head for Turkeys?
Just MY opinion, BH....but I find SO MUCH wrong with this statement:
I am thinking about trying a head/neck shot with one on a jake this year because i wouldnt risk it on a big tom. |
RE: G5 Small Game Head for Turkeys?
No for body shots, yes for a head shot. NAP Spitfire for body.:):):)

RE: G5 Small Game Head for Turkeys?
i was just saying that i would rather miss a jake while reting a head shot than miss a tom while trying a head shot.
Wouldnt you? |
RE: G5 Small Game Head for Turkeys?
BH....
If I draw my bow.....I'm expecting to kill that animal. There's ALWAYS the chance we're not going to be successful.....and therefore MISS. There's ALSO the chance we're going to wound that animal.....and THAT is where I have the issue (and it's admittedly MY issue). A head shot on a turkey is an EXTREMELY "chancy" shot. I wouldn't take ANY shot on a personally deemed "lesser" animal than I would on a "trophy" animal (or vice-versa). That was my point. |
