Tribute & Ally Same Bow???
I was at an archery shop today looking at some new bows. I was comparing the Tribute and the Allegence. A guy who works there told me they were the exact same bow, but the Tribute just has shorter strings bringing the limbs closer to parallel. Is this true or was he just being a salesman. I had never heard this before.

RE: Tribute & Ally Same Bow???
Well sort of but not. When you get all done changing limb orientations you have a different bow. One has higher brace height, one weighs a little more, speeds are a little different, axle to axle is different, etc. They shoot different.

They have a different riser. They are different bows, I think your dealer was blowing something somewhere you don't want it.

RE: Tribute & Ally Same Bow???
I just bought a 2007 Tribute and am loving it (sore arms/back and all).
It is smooth, fast and accurate. Giving the guy some benefit of the doubt, the bows appear to have been much more similar in 06, with of course different limb orientation (feel free to correct me if I am wrong). But for 2007 the Allegiance has a new, lighter riser compared to 06, while the Tribute retains the same riser (apparently with some adjustment to the cams). For 2007 the bows don't even have the same number of cutouts. As these bows are the same price, I thought I was going to buy the Allegiance due to slightly better speed and lighter weight, but after shooting these bows a lot (at same length, draw weight, and both with speed cams), I went with Tribute. As stated, the Tribute is a little heavier and at my setting was about 5 fps slower, but I thought the draw on the Tribute was a little smoother/easier, it is shorter axle (I only plan on hunting), and it just felt a little better at the shot (less vibration). Based on these personal impressions, I overlooked the minor difference in speed and went with the Tribute. It was a tough choice to make between these two great bows. If you are really interested in both bows, I would have the shop (preferably another person) set up the bows identically, shoot them side by side, and go with which one feels best. This is my first post here, but since I just bought a Tribute I felt like putting in my 2 cents. |
