Wow! I guess if the shooter had a particularly long draw length, this could be possible.

Yep. One thing, though. I'd bet your form would have to be perfect if you were shooting 342-350 fps with a 6" brace height.

I find it hard to believe 15% of the people are shooting over 300 fps... at least with there hunting set up.

I am not personally interested in this little arms race going on with the speedsters. From throwing the discus in high school and college, and40 years of fly fishing, my shoulder joint will not take much pulling back a 70 lb. bow. I shoot a 2005 Hoyt Pro Tec set a 55 lbs. My Easton Carbon arrows weigh 393 grains total arrow weight, and are cruising along at just under 250 fps.Not feeling real under-gunned with this bow for what I hunt here in Colorado. In fact, one of the guys in our club is a retired MD in his late 60's. Shoots a 45 lb. compound with arrow speeds probably around 220 fps. Kills everything with this setup. Almost never misses.

Most archers would be better off to not know their actual draw weight or arrow speed, IMO.

I think that if speed is all that someone is interested in, they won't ever truly be satisfied. Right now, the X-force is the fastest production bow, and some will flock to buy one just because of that. The'll probably be happy right up until another company puts out a faster model. I'll stick with what I have. It's going to be a killer setup for years to come.

My hunting bow is shooting around 275-280 at 29.5" draw at 70lbs and with a 417 grain arrow. My 3D bow is going about 285fps with a 343 grain arrow and 63lbs at just about 29.75" and my indoor bow is going probably 220-230fps with a 505 grain arrow at 53lbs.

RJ, why do you use such heavy arrows for indoor? Is there an advantage to use a heavier arrow for spots? I know speed is not a factor because of the set distance, just curious if that is common or not.

The advantage isn't with the speed(or lack of), the advantage is from these being a very wide shaft (26/64" outside diameter) and that allows me to cut lines much easier and get a few extra X's or 10 rings that a skinny shaft typically wouldn't get. Being heavy is just a caracteristic of being a wide shaft. I also include 150 grain glue in points because they seem to shoot better for some reason. Add in the fact that a 53lb bow allows me to shoot many more shots before muscle fatigue sets in and now you have a 53lb bow shooting a 500+ grain arrow which = slow. It's only 20 yards and you know how far the target is, so speed isn't an advantage at all indoors. I would bet 90% of the guys on the target line at vegas competing are all shooting 240fps or slower with the majority of them falling between 200-225. Hope that helps.

Pretty sure I am stretching it, just like others on this thread. I havnt shot a Whitetail hunter since the mid 80's. But I do shoot a Mathews Outback at 65 lbs a a whoping 260 fps.
