I think they probably are the quietest rest out there.

lol......sorry i had to.

to answer your question.....i have nothing against them. as a hunting rest set up right i think they are absolutely great. do i shoot one? nope. they make drop away rests that are also full containment now. all the benefits of the WB with none of the potential draw backs of them.

right now i shoot a prong rest(nap 1000) i have no problem with it...i like to set my bow on its side when on stand...when i stand up to shoot i gotta put it on the prongs..if i had a containment drop away i wouldnt have to...convinent...lol. so if i have the extra cash this summer and feel froggy im gunna buy me a fancy drop away rest that contains the arrow as well.

all personal prefrence. if we all liked the SAME thing and all used the same things etc life would be boring...nothing to bicker and peacfully argue about in the off season:)

i dont have much experience with with rests but i really like mine. but the only other rest i have used was a hard plastic stick on one it sucked

RE: Does Anyone Here Like the Whisker Biscuit?

Yes, Atlas. I know, it's late.

Seriously though, I had a WB on my old Tomkat and then went to a Drop Zone. I really liked the drop zone. When I was shooting with the WB, I was pretty accurate out to 40 yds and I liked the full containment. My new bow, the Equalizer, I put the TT on it and I like it for what it is. The only trouble I had with the WB was fletching being pulled off. I wonder if there is a rest with as good of containment as the WB without the fletching issue? I really don't want something with a lot of extra parts either.

Louisiana, there are several good full containment drop-away rests. I shoot a ripcord and love it and i know that QAD makes a heck of one also.

Of course, I have had a WB for years and cant say one thing bad against it.

I have one on my bow, and I like it alot except for the fact that it tears my fletchings off, I have to put some glue on the front and sides of them so they stay on, but otherwise it is great. Like others said, it is fairly consistently accurate, and not too noisy. I have been told thatt if you put armorall on your arrow it quiets it down when drawing back, but have not tried it. Any one try this or something else?

Been using one since they came out, best rest I have ever used. As long as they are tuned correctly your fletching shoudl last quite a long time.

Yeah, i said that i shoot a Ripcord

Also QAD makes a good full-containment drop-away

Now Jeff we know if the sound of the merry-go-round and the see-saw does not spook deer, the WB is alright.;)

Michael, I was referring to the QAD because I know they make about 4 different models of that rest. I like the looks of it, but I have not used or seen one in use. Does the Ripcord not make too much noise or did you cover it's components with moleskin? I shot one of those on my bow before I bought it. It just felt cheap and noisy. (It did not have any moleskin on it though)

RE: Does Anyone Here Like the Whisker Biscuit?

Oh, my bad...haha. The QAD Ultra Rest that Jeff has pictured above is a really good rest.

I put the ripcord on and it had very minimal noise. I did however want the draw to be noiseless so put some moleskin on that badboy and you wont hear a thing!

RE: Does Anyone Here Like the Whisker Biscuit?

Thanks for the input Michael. I am looking strogly at the QAD though. My TT has plenty of moleskin on it and it still makes too much noise for me when it slaps the shelf (also covered in moleskin). Another thing I have found is my arrow sometimes (too often) pops over the edge of the rest and then you have to dangle the bow downward to get it back on the rest or take a chance on a (MO) dangerous slow letdown to get it back on the rest. I will not take the chance of this happening to me at full draw.

RE: Does Anyone Here Like the Whisker Biscuit?

Louisiana, im not real familiar with the TT rest, but is there an adjustment to where you can raise up the droping part of the rest so it wont smack the shelf? I know there are ways to adjust the QAD and the Ripcord...

LouisianaTomkat 04-12-2007 06:56 AM

RE: Does Anyone Here Like the Whisker Biscuit?

If there is an adjustment I wish someone would post it here. Although this still does not address my issue of the arrow jumping over the rest. This happens even at the slowest draw you could imagine.

Once again the issueof the WB makes the noise when shooting. It is the finish on the arrow that makes the noise.Last Sat while at the proshop shooting, I took my friend's GT camo finished arrow & drew it thru the WB. You could hear it all the way thru the length of the arrow. I then took my Easton Axis ST, no noise. Same result on his fall away rest. The finish on my arrow is very smooth, & almost has a waxy type finish to it. You can feel the camo finish on the GT's. That is what makes the noise. I too had a fall away. The noise it made was when it fell & hit the shelf. The shelf had a soft neoprene insulator on it. Just my .02.
