Decided to scout a little yesterday.......and couldn't get into the woods. I ran a couple of hens out of the field at 5:00. I guess I should have gotten out there, earlier.

Good luck to all of you turkey hunters........I get to try my luck, Saturday.

Same here, I cant wait. Good luck to you and try to get some sleep this week...Im already losing some thinking about Saturday morning.

I'm TRYING not to set myself up for a dissapointment. I told my wife I just wanted to get a shot at one. If I put myself in that position......I've been "successful" in MY eyes.

I've taken birds with a shotgun.......and I have no interest in that, any more (just a personal position). I've also never called in my own bird.....ALL on my own.....and that's what has me concerned. My plan is to be where they want to be, anyway.....and call VERY LITTLE....lol.

I'll let you know how it goes.....and YES....I've been scouting a bunch. I'm not going near them, this week, though.

sounds like a great plan jeff. thats pretty much how i like to turkey hunt...when i have the time to scout. looks like this year ill just be going out on past years expirience. i been hunting the same birds for almost 10 years now...they usually beat me...but they never seem to change. theres a few spots ill take a stroll through between now and then when i have time just to double check that they are there.

i used to love scouting for turkey...id be up at 4am every day i could through april to hear them gobble. college ruined me. now i get up at 7am looking forward to warm breakfast and coffee to get me through the day full of classes, projects and papers....

there is one new spot on my list for this year i really wanted to scout...but looking at my schedule i realized i will only have ONE day to hunt it...or i could drive 5 more minutes that one day and hunt a spot i KNOW is loaded with turkeys...i forgot this school madness actually ends halfway through the season...

i cant wait to hear about how you called one in and got an arrow in him!! i didnt kill a turkey till i went out ALONE. for 4 years dad called me in 100s. i just never fired the gun for one reason or another...my 5th year i was 16 and went out alone for the first time ever in my life...brought home a longbeard i called in and killed all by myself...dad was prouder than could be. the next year i did the same thing...guess dad taught me a little something!

Not this Thur but next Thur I'll be there.....don't bust'em too much..lol
