Would you care to share the source for that statistic? I think you're blowing a great deal of smokeup someone's pants leg with that one. LOL
[8D]
You said yourself that you want to know what the successful people are using........well more animals fall to the WB every year then any other rest................so which is it?
[8D]
Stats From Cabela's from 2002-2004, I am going from memory.
Top Rest sales
1.WB
2.TM Hunter rest
3.TrohyTaker
4.Muzzy Zero Effect.
5.Bow Doodle
WB came on most bows that were soldas packages.
Top return rest
1.WB
2.Zero Effect(people who tried to install it them selfs
I can tell you these are the top two for returns, we did get a lot of the "gimmick" rest back. Pretty much all we sold.

I ran the Bargain Cave for these years and I process all the returns.
WB 1 reason for being return-noise
WB 2 reason for being return-cosmitic
WB 3 reason for being return-tuning issues
Zero Effect - was tuning issue. I myself return Zero effect I fond bows with high BH it was very hard to tune.
I installed over 1000 WB, we also came up with ways to quite them down with moleskin, wax ,etc for customers. I will say the newer models seem to have softer whiskers. I guess WB was listening

Now if WB kills more deer than any other rest, than I would guess it wounds more deer than any other rest. Everyone relax, Atlas made the claim, take the good with the bad.

Who buys the WB, well about half the guys are good hunters who just want to have a simple reliable rest. The other half is an intersting group

I will give you 1 example of many I have. I can even remember night, 28th Sept 2003. I was in Archery helping out. I put a WB on a guys bow. We sighted it in(kind of) on our 7 yd range. He than as for 2 2117 game getters II. I ask only 2, yep he said, one for hunting and one for practice

Most expensive does not = the best, nor does the most popular

Example, The most popular girl in school was not the best

GMMAT can get beat up for his views, he will tell you he does not know. As I recall after his first oops he shot 5 deer. One scored over 100, Hey Atlas your WB ever shoot one that big? Layoff Atlas, Lets end this third grade BS. I thought we all agreed to grow up.

Interesting facts there Germ. The #1 returned site. Speaking about the tuning issue; my proshop has always installed our Trophy takers on the day of thepurchase of our new bow. They do it fast, we are paper tuned fast, and we have never adjusted them ever again. One time setup and done. Hassle free, maintenance free site. This is why I like them.

1 return sight was the Copper Johns, becasue those pins broke. Again almost all the "gimmick" looking sights were returned.
Clothing no SL was ever returned, LOL I kid, I kid. A lot was returned, I bought it for 30 bucks

Why not talk about something that happened in 1975 while we're at it??

Sounds like you guys were doing a heck of a job setting things up over there

Hey Atlas your WB ever shoot one that big?

Bargain cave returns come from catalog sales, 95% of what is in the cave comes from catalog sales.
How does this relate to 2007??........the WB is totally redesigned and TM hunter rests are all but extinct.....and the MZE is all new as well.

Salesdon't really mean a whole lot, Germ, except the number of units of a given restgo out the door. Doesn't tell how many of those units are mounted on bows andtaken to the woods or how many wind up tossed into the junk draw before the season opens. Doesn't tell how many of those with them mounted on the bow even get a chance to draw on a deer. Doesn't say how many of those that do get a shot actually take a deer.
Even though the WB might be the most sold single brand of rest, it's not fair to say there are more WB's out in the woods than any other because their are hundreds of other rests on the market.
That'd be like saying that since Ford is the #1 selling pickup in Texas, almost everyone in Texas is driving a Ford. In reality, you see a lot of Chevy's, GMC's, Dodges, Nissans, Toyotas, Mazdas etcon the highway. Only about every 7th or 8thpickup is a Ford, at least in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (gotta allow for regional product preferences too, ya know). And there are a whole bunch of sedans, vansand SUV's for every pickup you see.
I'm sure there are a great many deer taken each year with a WB. Might even be that more are taken with the WB than with any other SINGLE brand of rest, though there is absolutely no way to prove it. But no way in hell are more deer taken with the WB than with all other rests combined, as SOME around here are trying to say.

Rest, Sights, etc!!!
Granted my data is 3 years old or older.
Blinds are a great example also. DB seldom got returned, but those dog houses sure did

yes employees fight over good stuff, a DB was like having diamonds in the cave.

Lost lyrics for "The Rolling Stones"...
" I can't get no satisfaction, I can't get no satisfaction
'Cause I try and I try and I try and I try
I can't get no, I can't get no
…………………………………………†¦..
When I'm surfin' on this forum and a man comes on and tell me
How good a shot he is
But, he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't shoot
The same rest as me"
Next let's decide which came first, the chicken or the egg....
