Another vote for Pat McManus. After awhile most all of the other "How-to" articles take on a sameness that bores me. A good hunting story told in an entertaining style appeals to me more but few authors write those type of articles on a continuous basis. Pat does, even if they're fictional, they are entertaining and enjoyable to read. I just wish he was more prolific at churning out books.

And I thought I was going to be alone with my vote for Pat McManus... good to see that there's others with a good sense of humor.

There are a lot of good one's.The great ones in my opinion are Wayne Van Zwoll,Pat McManus,Jim Dougherty. Most of the writers from Bugle Magazine are excellent.I respect Eddie Claypool,it is obvious that he hunts hard,I don't find his writing to be captivating. My biggest complaint with a lot of the writers is that they have become sell outs for outdoor products manufacturers. If I am reading an article and Istart to see the I used a this and that bow and this and that release and this and that camo,I stop reading and move to another article.I could care less what many of these self professed experts use. That may sound harsh but I believe it has gone to far with the self promotion and product promotion.
