I would rather not get a shot. It's great just watching them.

I would rather not get the shot off. If you see the deer and no opurtunity presents itself than so be it, if it does and you fall apart at crunch time it just makes you sick

Neither... But only take a shot when you know you can take a good one. Most of the time that means you'll not miss, OR not take the shot.

RE: Would you rather miss or not get a shot off?

I've never "missed", but I have hit two deer a little far back and recovered them. Nothing in the world could be worse than missing, except wounding. In fact, if you wounded, you missed!

If I make bad shot, I am physically ill about it. It haunts me for months. How could I make a bad shot after the thousands of arrows and year round practice? After gut shooting a deer this year, I literally could not sleep for a few days. And I recovered it! I just kept replaying the shot over and over in my head. It was aweful. It's been six months and I still think about it. I think that fear of missing/wounding makes me a better hunter. When I practice year round, I'm not thinking about all the deer and turkey's I've killed. I'm thinking about that gutshot buck last year. Missing sucks! When you shoot thousands of practice arrows tobe ready for that ONE arrow that counts, you'd better not miss!

I'd much rather not shoot than miss. Missing sucks. I know eventually we all miss, but man I hate making a bad shot on an animal. Hate it! That's why I only take shots that I am 100% confident with. Any doubt at all, and I won't shoot.

I hope to keep the streak alive this year. Over 15 deer so far and never a miss or unrecovered animal. Just two gutshot but recovered deer that still haunt me!

Since I've not bowhunted yet, this is hard. If I miss, I'm sure I'd spend years thinking "what if". I'm sure I'd spend just as long thinking "what if" if I passed on a shot also. Since I'd be kicking myself either way, I'd rather not take the shot. At least that "what if" would be less painful (and less embarassing).

Miss. I've taken a second and the first helped.

even though i hate to miss i would rather miss then not get a shot off the reason being that you always learn something from a miss even if it's something small you always learn something for the next time..... but it SUCKS...
