RE: Slick Trick 1" Standard or 1 1/8" Magnums?
1/8" difference in cutting diameter makes a big difference in the amount of penetration when you are talking about a 4 blade head. My tests have shown that the 1" slick tricks penetrate a good deal better than the larger ones. The Lutz Solingen" blades are the newer improved blades.

RE: Slick Trick 1" Standard or 1 1/8" Magnums?
I'm just curious why you guys are recommending the smaller blades for his set up. We all know that the faster the bow the harder it is to steer bigger bladed broadheads, hence all the micro heads that are out for today's speed bows. KDS does not have to worry about this because this set up should produce moderate speed. If it is for penetration, 1/8th of an inch should not make that much of a difference on a fixed blade head. Slick Tricks are known for their accuracy and penetration, so I would think that this set up would be more than adequate for either the standards or the magnums. Thoughts? At 27" and 58# (a low energy setup) the Standard's are the better choice. It's better to havetwo 1" holes (entry, exit)thanjust one 1 1/8" entry hole. |

I see what you guys are saying. I didn't take into account the fact that he will be going from 3 blades to 4 blades. Thanks!
