My 06 Kansas buck mount came today
I just got him up on the wall and thought I'd post it. I haven't taped him out since the drying period is now over, but he grossed 173 5/8ths back in November.

Sure hope he stays above 170 for you. A Booner would be awsome. Looks like he has a couple small deductions tho. One to be proud of anyway for sure!!!

Very nice Kelly, VERY nice. He is a brute for sure and thats a great looking mount, also, I really like how the mount looks on the red wall. Almost all the mounts you see are on either a white wall or a wood wall. Its nice to see one hung on a different color. Congrats on the bruiser.

do you have family in Kansas? I saw you were form KY and just wondered how you get to hunt those monsters in Kansas. He is a fantastic looking deer and the mount also looks great. Congratulations.

Thanks guys...yeah I'm really pleased with him. Great deer and while pretty (Thanks Joey) he was a real stud herding in about 10 does when I shot him Halloween night 06. The taxidermy work is great. I figured up 640 inches of antler in the den last night with 4 deer, I've been pretty lucky and blessed.
Huntingson...believe it or not my wife's family is from the exact same town I go to hunt, but I still end up paying to hunt. It's one of my absolutely must dos every year and unfortunately not cheap. So, the kids eat mac and cheese for a few months every year to allow dad to go to Kansas. Thank god, because it's the one place where I can leave everything behind and just enjoy. |
