RE: Potential New World Record Buck

Dan,

The name and number at the bottom of the article is for the author, "H&R Executive Sports Editor".

The picture was put on the web, and Bowsite, like that. From what I was told, it was to alter it because the hunter was planning on selling an article or something. Not sure though.

Oh yeah, I agree...photos in trucks aren't my thing. Anymore than open body cavities, bloody tongues hanging out, or animals that look like they were rolled in the gut pile.

RE: Potential New World Record Buck

Thats one heck of a buck. I heard about this buck on my local news channel in Southeast Missouri during the Illinois shotgun season, I didnt want to bring it up on this site until I heard more about it cause you know how rumors about WORLD RECORD BUCKS always come up sometime during any given deer season. At 291 inches this buck would be either be a No.4 or No.5 in the B&C record book.
Im pretty sure that the No.1 buck killed by a hunter is not the Fulton buck from Mississippi, but the Mike Beatty buck from Ohio killed by bow in Nov. 2000.

No.1 Missouri-333 inches- found dead in 1981
NO.2 Ohio- 325 inches- found dead in the 1940s
No.3 Beatty buck Ohio,304 inches, killed by bow in 2000
No.4 Fulton buck from MS. or the buck recently killed in IL.

Anyway, if I killed a buck that size, the last thing I would be worried about is how many inches some organization scored it.
Most of the people on this site would probably say I am crazy, but if I killed a buck of that caliber I would want to remain anonymous for the simple reason that I like my privacy and would not want to be burdended with all the publicity.

Maybe I am crazy.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
