RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
Well I'm sure dissapointed. My only question is ..did they spin test the heads??? I would have to believe they did not.
I've shot 100g Thunderheads at 40 yards that had the same POI as my field tips , but I always spin them. Since I started using Slick Tricks I find it still to be necessary. Before I knew much about tuning heads,I used Rocket expandables and they didn't hit the same as fp's, but I didn't spin them either. A piece of this puzzle is missing. |

I didn't get to see the video so I don't know what heads they tested, but I must say this. I've shot some broadheads that fly EXACTLY as my field points. In fact I can say I could shoot 3D with them and the point of impact would be right with the fieldpoints.

If you listen right to the very end the last few statements say it all.
Something to do with all heads grouped the same repeatedly; you just need to adjust your sights a little for what head you are huntin with. I guess what they were trying to show is that you shouldn't just screw on a head that is "supposed" to shoot as a fieldtip and go hunting with it. Test it first. I liked the test, that bow was smokin |

wow that is amazing, and very interesting, i wish they had a more variety of broadheads.
very good! |

Dave, I've had to make adjustments also with most heads but one.......Rocky Mtn. Turbos. I've never had to make the first adjustment in the two seasons I have shot them, but granted they are a short head with a 1 1/8" cutting diameter.

Great test, they sure used the right bow! I too wish they had used Slicks just out of curiosity. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why all the hits were low or low and left. I thought it was a very good test though and kind of an eye opener. I was impressed with the toughness of some of those expandables.

Practically every head they shot went low left.If they had adjusted the rest to get the broadheads in the middle.I would be willing to bet that the they would still have a good tear in the paper. It would take a very MINOR adjustment.
At longer distances the broadheads should shoot slightly lower, the drag on the head should make it do so but at 35 yards, they should be closer than what they had with most.Hell, even the mechanicals were not hitting the same, that should have told them something was off in the tune. |
