Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
hey guys take a look at this my buddy showed me this video a couple days ago. i just thought i would share. I know it doesn't have the slicks in there and i would like to see how they performed but i still thought it was neat .

Very interesting to say the least. I guess that proves that NO broadhead made today shoots exactly "like a field point". However, some were close and definitely better than others.

yeah i thought it was a eye opener myself lol

RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
That was pretty awesome! I am curious to see what our boys in here have to say about it ....guys, take the time to watch this video and chime in.

That was a great little video, very informative. I like how you can watch the string in slow motion at the end. Thanks.

RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
I thought that was a very well done test. Most of today's tests favor a certain broadhead company, and try to persuade you that theirs is the best. I like how they stayed completely neutral in the test and didnt favor a certain brand. I wish they would have chose some of the more popular breadheads on the market. Overall tho i think it showed how accurate the broadheads were and how durable too.
Nice find Alberta! |

Very cool. Did anyone try that website? www.mucc.com Didn't work for me.

Great Video! I would like to see what that string will do with an STS on there. Thanks again, I think I found my hunting broadhead for this year.

RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
I don't think you can get anymore accurate testing than that. My broadheads have never shot the same as field points, they have alway shot a little lower.I'm surprised they didn't test the thunderheads?
Thanks for sharing! crutch |
RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
Well I'm sure dissapointed. My only question is ..did they spin test the heads??? I would have to believe they did not.
I've shot 100g Thunderheads at 40 yards that had the same POI as my field tips , but I always spin them. Since I started using Slick Tricks I find it still to be necessary. Before I knew much about tuning heads,I used Rocket expandables and they didn't hit the same as fp's, but I didn't spin them either. A piece of this puzzle is missing. |
RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
THAT WAS A PREATY COOL TEST,THANKS FOR SHARING

RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
very cool and well done video but wish they would have shown slicktricks as well

RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
I didn't get to see the video so I don't know what heads they tested, but I must say this. I've shot some broadheads that fly EXACTLY as my field points. In fact I can say I could shoot 3D with them and the point of impact would be right with the fieldpoints.
|
RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
If you listen right to the very end the last few statements say it all.
Something to do with all heads grouped the same repeatedly; you just need to adjust your sights a little for what head you are huntin with. I guess what they were trying to show is that you shouldn't just screw on a head that is "supposed" to shoot as a fieldtip and go hunting with it. Test it first. I liked the test, that bow was smokin |

wow that is amazing, and very interesting, i wish they had a more variety of broadheads.
very good! |
RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
Dave, I've had to make adjustments also with most heads but one.......Rocky Mtn. Turbos. I've never had to make the first adjustment in the two seasons I have shot them, but granted they are a short head with a 1 1/8" cutting diameter.

RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
Great test, they sure used the right bow! I too wish they had used Slicks just out of curiosity. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why all the hits were low or low and left. I thought it was a very good test though and kind of an eye opener. I was impressed with the toughness of some of those expandables.

Practically every head they shot went low left.If they had adjusted the rest to get the broadheads in the middle.I would be willing to bet that the they would still have a good tear in the paper. It would take a very MINOR adjustment.
At longer distances the broadheads should shoot slightly lower, the drag on the head should make it do so but at 35 yards, they should be closer than what they had with most.Hell, even the mechanicals were not hitting the same, that should have told them something was off in the tune. |

Pretty interesting results. Having shot Snypers for the first time this past season, I gotta say that these are the best expandables that I have shot. Accuracy was great, penetration, well mine blew right through the buck I shot and burried over a foot into the ground without any damage. One other thing about the test that I enjoyed was the Muzzy test. I may get my head cut off by the Muzzy group but I said along time ago that the blades on the Muzzy's weren't that great and after shooting them into a target they would get very minor chips out of them. They are tough broadheads, I smacked a doe and it broke a rib going in, hit the shoulder and went through then exited the deer just to hit the deers leg after it exited and it broke the leg but the blades do chip easily.

RE: Take a look at this. BH accuaracy and durability
Pretty neat. I'd like to see a few more popular heads tested, like the Striker, slick tricks, etc. I agree with the ending, if the bow is tuned well with minor adjustments to your sights you can become just as consistent with broadheads.
