Default You guys ever seen this before?

I was boiling two of my bowkills from this year when I remember that my taxidermist told me when he skinned out my buck that it had two top front teeth. He said he has done hundreds of deer and never has seen this before. You guys ever seen this? Looks like ivory on an elk…

There was a thread over on ArcheryTalk recently about this. It isn't as rare we you might think.

It's caused from a recessive gene from hundreds of years ago... or something like that.

There was a mount like that at the Illinois Deer and Turkey Classic a couple of years back with some sort of description.
If I remember correctly, it was something like 1 in 10,000 deer have those "canine" teeth and that it is either an evolution of the species or a genetic flashback. Either way, its a fairly common mutation.
